All You Tablet PC "Newbies"

A respons from Debra Drummond prompted me to add this thought on tablet pc's.

One of the places I got a lot of ideas about how to use my Tablet + some really great hands-on practice was at the National Assn. of Realtors annual Conference & Expo, Orlando, November 7-10, 2008.  If possible, make the investment in time and go to Orlando in November.  I believe I read where Hewlett Packard is hosting the technology center this year.  They also did the year I attended.  Hang out at the technology learning center.  Technology Learning Center Classes include Tablet PC. There I took both the Introduction to Tablet PC and the Advanced Skills training sessions on Tablets.  Another valuable resource was the Hewlett Packard booth in the Expo.  Also, Toshiba or other Tablet vendors may have info. at their booths.  Every hour they had speakers who were Realtors and Brokers actually presently using this technology and blackberry type devices and various software.  I was glued there for a whole day.  I came back with so many ideas that I still haven't had time to implement them all yet.

Wow I would love to see what Hewlett Packard will be showing at the Expo.  I have seen their new touch screens on TV commercials and it looks really easy and fun to use.

Diane and Regina,

Thanks for your commnts.  I must confess.. what is the VREO Dashboard?  I'm going to do a little research since you brought it up and educate myself.  If either of you have things to add if you attend this year's expo, please let me know.

VREO's dashboard is a software that you put on your Tabletand use it to sign your documents on. It also has a online service that keeps all the docs that you have signed on a online server - (basically a online backup service) It is recognized as being legal for signing docs - you can not erase once signed - just like pen and paper. once signed and saved in Dashboard you can email or fax from the program (with a internet connection) cost is right at $25.00 per month.

My wife and I both have it and use it all the time.

My broker uses a tablet and has shown me some great uses for it.  I am considering one, but don't know much about what I should be looking for as far as features, brand, price, etc?  If anyone could help, that would be greatly appreciated.

Troy,

One source of user comments is found in RealTown community, which includes the ePRO graduate community from the NAR designation.  Here is a link to their Tablet PC comments and reviews.  Notice on the left an index by vendor as well to help you as you narrow down your selection.
